Sending a Package To Shaftesbury!

Since this has been something everyone is interested in doing - which I agree I definately want to contribute, I wanted to make an official thread for it.

Everyone can post the ideas they come up with in how they would like to contribute to the Shaftesbury package!

This has recently been discussed in our 'Podcasts' forum under the Michael and Ashley area. But since we're wanting to send a Dasey package I decided to put it in the discussion area!

I personally think the best idea is in fact for all of us to do what we can together online - then we all send our projects to one select member - from there that member can send it on to Shaftesbury.

Given the fact that Miranda and I are the administrators, I feel like we would be the ones to have the items sent to us, and we would send them on their way to Shaftesbury. Miranda and I are having a meeting on Friday night so we will discuss this better then. If anyone feels like Miranda or I shouldn't have the responsibility of gathering and shipping the items, please say so before Friday evening.

I really love the fact that this is something we can all do together to promote Dasey as a couple!

I have an idea in my head - and I need some second opinions - the way I want to contribute is maybe by going out and getting a really nice scrapbook or photo album, and capturing some great Dasey moments/screencaps - high quality of course, printing them on photo paper and putting the album together.

But everyone has come up with some great ideas so far, and I encourage you to share them here too!

I also would love the idea of some of the great video makers out there, maybe burning some of their videos onto a dvd/cd and sending it in the package.

So please, let's get our creative juices going!

After everyone has come up with ideas, we can discuss shipping and handling costs, etc. - all the details will be worked out, so it's important those of you who want to contribute and be involved share as many suggestions, ideas, and advice with Miranda and I! After all, it was you guys that came up with the idea!

Here is some of my ideas about what to put in the package, I'm just gonna copy and paste from the original discussion:

1.we could buy a ken doll, give it a name tag that says Max, and puts pins on it.

2. We can put in some post-its to symbolize the episode Ivanwho and the fanfic, nothing heals me like you do (since the new episodes are eerily alike to a number of fanfictions, we can predict that the writers possibly read fanfiction, we know that the cast does, so why not the writers?) and on the post its, we can write down a number of classic Dasey quotes like, "Derek! What have you done to the children? Me? I didn't do anything!" and several others, also snoopy had the great idea of sticking the post its on revelant screencaps from the show.

3. Sally and Kendra dolls, same as the max doll.

4. We can print out some of the captions we have from Caption This, or just cute captures from the show in general.

5.we can ask for a tape of Christina's new dasey documentary after it's done, links for more info here, just in case you haven't heard about it yet...

6. we can put in the Dasey essays from Jannikajade and DaseyVenturi when they're done.

7. Oh and of course, a list of reason and moments why we love dasey!

^Those are all excellent ideas.

I know that someone mentioned a miniature plastic hula hoop as well which would be great if only a way could be figured out to make one.

^I was the one that mentioned they might have something similar to a barbie hula hoop after snoopy first suggested something to represent one. I'll check online to see if they have something. I can also look around Walgreens where I work and find toys that would represent something to add to the care package.

I love the scrapbook idea! And as Snoopy said in the other thread, a 'daisy' would be a nice touch.

I really like the idea of making a Dasey fanmix, possibly because of my slight obsession with finding Dasey songs.

On the other thread, someone mentioned Bengal bracelets.

I'm not sure what a Bengal bracelet is, but there are those colorful and glittery jelly bracelets that they sell. Would that work? If so, I was thinking attaching little strips of paper on them that stated the reasons we love Dasey.

I love all these ideas, by the way. This is going to be one kick-ass package!

The jelly bracelets and glittery bracelets and the metal ones that are similar to them are called Bengals. Or at least, that's what my sister and I were told they were called.

^Yes this is going to be an awesome package. And I'll probably go out shopping this weekend for a scrapbook. I'm going to put 110% into it, I really want it to look nice!

I've also decided what I'll do for it is probably, if I can find a big enough one - recap all the episodes, use one page per ep, and include one of the best Dasey screenshots, and the best quote, that way it can also symbolize how they've grown.

I really love everyone's ideas. The bracelet idea for a mini hula hoop is clever! I cannot wait to see what everyone contributes to this package!

I thought of something else!

Is there any way we could incorporate butterflies in this package? Casey wears butterfly clips in her hair as well as the necklace, and I'm reminded of a fanfiction that used the butterfly as a symbol.

I'm not sure what to tag to it ... but maybe someone else will?

I love the butterflies idea too- Casey does wear a lot of them.

Oooh, I love this idea. The fanmix idea has me intrigued because I love music and I have a very long list of songs that remind me of Dasey. I could end up with about 20+ fanmix CDs in total at completion - a different theme for each one too (only duplicating a theme approximately 3 times). Too much? Sound overboard? I usually am, considering my essay is going to be super long.

And of course, there is my essay.

I could also make some music fanvids whenever I get the chance to transfer my taped episodes to DVDs and rip them to my computer, which will hopefully be soon.

I also have some "banner graphics" that have been sitting on my hard drive for a while that I could add some quotes and things to that could be printed off (on picture paper?) or I could let you guys snag some of them and let you add your own quotes, words, et cetera. Some include the DAISY and butterfly themes ideas too.
